WHAT IS THE PONY CLUB?
Centre Membership
The Pony Club is an international youth organisation for those interested in ponies and riding. It was founded in 1929.
The Objectives are:
• To encourage young people to ride and learn to enjoy all kinds of sport connected with horses and riding.
• To provide instruction in riding and horsemanship and to instil in Members the proper care of their animals.
• To promote the highest ideals of sportsmanship, citizenship and loyalty, thereby cultivating strength of character and self-discipline.

Centre Membership runs alongside Branch Membership, potential members join at their local Riding Centre. The activities of each Centre are administered by the Proprietor.

Pony Club Centre Membership is open to anyone under 21 years of age who does not own their own pony. Members pay an annual subscription and receive instruction at a linked Riding Centre; this subscription constitutes Membership of the Club and includes Third Party Insurance.

Centre Membership allows the opportunity for a Member to learn more about riding and horse and pony care. Members are encouraged to take an interest in their work and improve their knowledge by working toward gaining Achievement Badges (there are 29 covering a range of subjects) and Pony Club Tests up to B Standard, which would include passing the Riding and Road Safety Test.

At SNAINTON RIDING CENTRE PONY CLUB we run one rally each month where members come for one and a half hours between 5pm – 6.30pm and do stable management and riding. Throughout the school holidays we run Pony Club days for members and also non horsey events so that members can get to know each other! For example we had a Christmas Disco in December 2008 which was hosted by Disco Diva in Snainton Village Hall.

If you are interested in becoming a member please ask a member of staff. We also sell jumpers, coats and t-shirts with Pony Club badge and Snainton Pony Club on.
